Personal, Social, Health Education
At Goodyers End Primary we use a whole school approach called Jigsaw as part of our Personal, Social, Health education (PSHE). We use a spiral method in teaching which is progressive and effective in aiming to prepare children for life. Our lessons help children know and value who they are and understand how they relate to others in this ever-changing world.
As a school we teach Protective Behaviours; this is a safety awareness and life skills programme which builds confidence and resilience by exploring our right to feel safe.
Protective behaviours is based around two key messages:
- We all have the right to feel safe all of the time
- We can talk with someone about anything, even if it feels awful or small
Throughout the year we explore British values which are:
- Democracy
- Respect
- Rule of law
- Tolerance
- Individual Liberty
Attached below is the Knowledge and Skills Progression document for PSHE. This details the areas children will cover in various year groups.
